Dr. Tara Kelley obtained her Doctorate in Medical Dentistry (DMD) at the prestigious University of Saskatchewan’s dental program, receiving distinction in 1999. In her completion year, she participated in a two-month externship in Mexico City gaining invaluable experience within a mobile unit while providing dental care to lower socio-economic communities. Returning to her home city of Regina, her professional practice began in general dentistry. Transitioning to the second half of her career, Dr. Kelley relocated to the beautiful Okanagan in pursuit of it’s unique lifestyle, weather, and proximity to her parents.
While practicing in Regina, Dr. Kelley was an active member of the Regina Dental Society, with whom she served a four-year term. Volunteering annually as an interviewer for potential applicants to the University of Saskatchewan’s Dental College, Dr. Kelley feels contributing to the future of dentistry allows her to stay connected and relevant within her field. Committed to working for a term at SIAST (Saskatchewan Institute of Applied Science and Technology) within the dental assisting program extended her the opportunity to teach assisting skills and share her passion for dentistry with others. Especially fond of pediatric dentistry, Dr. Kelley considers working within the age-defined specialty an opportunity to guarantee bright smiles for the future. Her primary goal is to provide the highest quality of conservative dentistry in an inviting and comfortable environment for individuals of all ages.
In her spare time, Dr. Kelley enjoys spending quality time with her family. She has four children, Maia, Liam, Rylan and Katie, who like most children, keep their mother active outside of her work. Not your typical sideline soccer mom, Dr. Kelley has even coached her children’s soccer teams on occasion. Quality time for the Kelley family consists of spending time outdoors practicing favourite hobbies, such as hiking, biking, travelling, and enjoying views of the lake. Whenever she has a spare moment, Dr. Kelley enjoys being inspired and picking up a paint brush.
